Rhinoplasty can reduce or increase the size of your nose, change the shape of the tip or the bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems.
Surgery technique
Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes one to three hours. Rhinoplasty is perfumes from within the nose, making their incision inside the nostrils. When the surgery is complete, a splint will be applied to help your nose maintain its new shape.
Duration of stay in clinic: 24 hours.
Rehabilitation: First few days the pain shouldn’t be severe. A little bleeding is common during the first few hours following surgery. The next morning you may leave clinic for home. By the end of one or, occasionally, two weeks, all dressings, splints, and stitches should be removed. The bruising around your eyes is common after surgery and will increase at first, reaching a peak after two or three days. But most of the swelling and bruising should disappear within two weeks or so.
After surgery avoid hitting or rubbing your nose and strenuous activity (volley-ball, boxing, wrestling etc.) for two to three months. During two weeks avoid take a bath or sauna.
